بيان: كأس العالم 2022 والموقف الثابت تجاه القضية الفلسطينية Statement: FIFA World Cup 2022

تستضيف قطر في نوفمبر ٢٠٢٢ بطولة كأس العالم لكرة القدم وهي الحدث الرياضي الأبرز في العالم، لتكون قطر أول أرض عربية  تقام عليها البطولة منذ انطلاقها قبل 92 عاماً. هذه الاستضافة ستجعل من قطر قبلة لملايين المشاهدين حول العالم وستفتح أجواءها وحدودها أمام مئات الآلاف من المشجعين الراغبين في حضور مباريات البطولة. ومنذ إعلان فوز قطر بالاستضافة بدأت تدور أسئلة وتكهنات كثيرة حول إمكانية دخول المشجعين والمنتسبين للكيان الصهيوني أثناء البطولة، وهو ما نعتبره تطبيعاً مرفوضاً، ويدفعنا للتشديد على أن استضافة هذا الحدث لا تعد استثناءً يبرر هذا التطبيع، بل إنها فرصة للتأكيد على ثوابت الأمة العربية ومواقفها الراسخة في الدفاع عن الحق الفلسطيني.

 وعلى الرغم من أن الساحة الرياضية عالمياً باتت مجالاً مفتوحاً للتعبير عن المواقف السياسية والأيديولوجية، إلا أننا لم نطلع إلى الآن على أي موقف يعبر عن دعم القضية الفلسطينية  -وهي القضية التي أجمعت عليها أمتنا- سواء من قطر أو أي من الدول العربية المشاركة، فلم تعبر أي من المنتخبات ولو رمزياً عن موقفها  تجاه القضية الفلسطينية، على الرغم من أن المؤشرات وبعض التقارير الصحفية تشير إلى أن دولة الاحتلال لن تدخر جهداً لتشجيع وتسهيل حضور مستوطنيها ومسؤوليها وإعلاميها لهذه البطولة خصوصاً وإبراز تواجدهم في قطر، بل وربما استغلال عادات الضيافة والترحيب القطرية لتطبيع وجودهم وادعاء تقبل الشعب القطري لهم. 

نعلم جميعاً حساسية المرحلة وما تمر به القضية الفلسطينية من تهديدات وتحديات تدفعنا للوقوف بشكل صارم ضد أي محاولات تطبيعية مباشرة أو غير مباشرة، لأنها تهدد وجودية الصراع وديمومته. وعليه فإننا في شباب قطر ضد التطبيع نؤكد رفضنا التام والقاطع لدعوة أو استضافة أو حتى السماح بدخول أي وفود رياضية وإعلامية تنتسب للكيان الصهيوني إلى قطر قبل وأثناء وبعد استضافة كأس العالم وتحت أي ذريعة كانت، ونؤكد أن هذه الوفود لو دخلت فلن تجد من الشعب القطري والعربي أي ترحيب.  فموقفنا الثابت من القضية الفلسطينية لن تميعه استضافة بطولات رياضية ولن تشوش عليه أي حجج ناعمة حول الرياضة بوصفها أداةً لتقريب الشعوب وفضاءً مفصولاً عن التجاذبات السياسية.  فالفضاء السياسي في الصراع مع الكيان الصهيوني هو صلبه، فلا بد من أن يطغى على أي فضاء آخر ويقدم عليه. وهذا ما يفهمه العالم أجمع ويطبقه في صراعاته السياسية الكبرى والحالة الروسية-الأوكرانية خير دليل. إذ امتدت المقاطعات السياسية الغربية للروس إلى الكثير من الفعاليات الرياضية ولم نسمع أي أصوات تدعو لتحييد المنافسات الرياضية في هذا الصراع. وهذا أيضاً ما يفهمه الكيان الصهيوني نفسه الذي لم تكف أياديه المجرمة عن استهداف الرياضيين الفلسطينيين والتضييق عليهم، فلماذا يعاب علينا نحن فقط استغلال الرياضة للتعبير عن حقنا في معاداة لكيان يحتل أرضنا منذ أكثر من 70 عاماً ويمارس شتى أنواع التطهير العرقي والفصل العنصري ضد اخواننا في فلسطين.  

إن استضافة هذه البطولة الهامة تمثل فرصة للتأكيد على مركزية القضية الفلسطينية وتجذرها في الوعي السياسي عند الشعوب العربية، ولذا فإننا نوجه الدعوة للشعب القطري ولكافة العرب والمتعاطفين مع القضية الفلسطينية لاستغلال الحدث للتعبير عن هذا الالتزام بالقضية والتذكير بها، عبر حمل الأعلام الفلسطينية وإبرازها بشكل واسع في الملاعب وحولها، وفي الشوارع وفوق السيارات والبيوت طيلة أيام البطولة. وعلى النقيض، فإننا ندعو الجهات المختصة بمنع حمل الأعلام الإسرائيلية واعتبارها فعلاً مستفزاً وعنصراً مهدداً للأمن ومنافياً لثوابت الشعب القطري، وهي ذات الحجج التي ساقتها اللجنة العليا للإرث عندما سئلت عن سماحها لجماهير البطولة بحمل وإبراز الأعلام المروجة للمثلية. 

QAYON’s Statement on World Cup 2022 and the firm position on the Palestinian cause

In November 2022, Qatar will host the FIFA Men’s World Cup, the most prominent sporting event in the world. It will be the first Arab country to host the tournament since its inception 92 years ago. This will make Qatar a destination for millions of football fans around the world and will open the country’s borders to hundreds of thousands of tourists wishing to attend the tournament matches. Since the announcement of Qatar’s hosting of the event, many questions and speculations have begun to circulate on the possibility of Israeli fans entering Qatar. We, in QAYON, perceive this as an unacceptable form of normalization. Despite the importance of hosting such an international event in an Arab country, it can’t be the justification to turn a blind eye to normalization,but, rather, it is an opportunity to emphasize the firm values and positions of the Arab nation in defense of Palestinian rights.

Although the international sports arena has become an open field for the expression of political and ideological positions, we have not yet seen any position from Qatar or any of the participating Arab countries expressing support for the Palestinian struggle, on which our Arab nation has an unanimous position. None of the participating teams expressed, even symbolically, their stance towards the Palestinian cause, although press reports have indicated that the Israeli regime of settler colonialism and apartheid will spare no effort to encourage and facilitate the attendance of its settlers, officials and media to this tournament. Israel will aim at highlighting its presence in Qatar, and perhaps even exploit the Qatari hospitality and customs to normalize its presence in an Arab country.

Being aware of the threats and challenges that the Palestinian cause is going through, pushes us to stand firmly against any direct or indirect normalization attempts aimed at weakening the Palestinian struggle. Therefore, we in Qatar’s Youth Against Normalization (QAYON), affirm our complete and unequivocal rejection of inviting, hosting, or even allowing the entry of any sports and media delegations affiliated with the Israeli enemy to Qatar before, during and after hosting the World Cup and under any pretext. 

We also confirm that if these delegations enter, they would not be welcomed by Qatari and Arab people. Our firm position on the Palestinian issue will not be diluted by hosting sports tournaments or any soft arguments about sports being a tool to bring people together. 

The struggle against the Israeli enemy must dominate all spaces. This is what the world understands and applies in its major political conflicts, and the Russian-Ukrainian case is the best example of this. The Western political boycotts of Russia extended to many sporting events, and we did not hear any voices calling for separating these sporting competitions from politics. The Israeli regime of settler colonialism and apartheid benefits from this Western hypocrisy. It understands that we will be sanctioned for expressing our antagonism for its regime that has been colonizing Palestine for more than 70 years and practicing various forms of ethnic cleansing and apartheid against our people in Palestine, while it continues to target Palestinian athletes.

Hosting this important tournament is an opportunity to emphasize the centrality of the Palestinian cause and its rooting in the political awareness of the Arab people. Therefore, we invite the Qatari people and all Arabs and people with conscious around the world to take advantage of the event to express their commitment to the Palestinian struggle. We call on people to hang Palestinian flags and display them widely in and around stadiums, in streets and over their cars and homes throughout the tournament. We also call on the Qatari authorities to prevent the display of Israeli flags and to consider it a provocative act and a threat to the security and firm values of the Qatari people. These are the same arguments used by the Supreme Committee for Legacy when asked if fans will be allowed to carry and display flags that promote LGBTQ rights.
